Assalamualaikum :D

Sometimes I do feel like screaming that I’m so happy for no apparent reason. Just want to share that I do enjoy my life now (Alhamdulillah :D :D). I enjoy teaching!

I’m tired. They call me to come to school at odd hours. I’m supposed to remember @ least around 100 names (per year). I need to prepare for my lectures. Need to prepare for presentations. Need to attend courses. But hey, I enjoy every single drop of my sweat. I enjoy teaching my students. I enjoy expressing myself in class. I LOVE MY JOB!! (Other than the writing reports part la =p ).

People sometimes do complaint that we don’t enjoy overtime allowance, tho we do work overtime, all the time. I say it’s a bless coz I don’t have to count my deeds. I’m not just saying this to comfort myself. I sincerely think this is a very good chance given by Allah to make me a better person, to do everything for Him alone i’Allah. And sincerity doesn’t at all refrain you from enjoying your work, kan :D :D

Alhamdulillah :D :D!!

Teaching rocks!

How ar (#2) :D :D?

Assalamualaikum :)

How I envy those who knows the truth,
How I envy those who feels safe when they believe their version of truth is the truth
How I envy those who have the courage to change their strong beliefs for something new
How I envy those who have the urge to find the truth
How I pity those who belittled by others just by enquiring for the truth
How I find it's hard to know which is the truth,
When we conviniently say others cannot be more wrong and vice-versa
What if we find it's too late when we realized we've been barking up the wrong tree?

I just..don't know :(

Tolerate or Celebrate? :D :D

Assalamualaikum :)
This is one of the things I kept thinking about, but have little confidence writing as I’m not sure if what I’ll write fully represent my thoughts. I used to think that if I don’t have the right words, or inspiration to write about an issue that bugs me much, maybe because it’s just not the right time to write it down. Or maybe, I’m just not good enough with words, period. See, even the intro seems weird enough. It’s kind of annoying when you have things to say, and to you, it’s very important, but you just don’t know how to put it in words. Nevertheless, I’ll try my best so my thoughts won’t just end up being, well, thoughts. I’m just going to put a disclaimer before anyone reads this post.
This is not an easy-to-digest post. Not to say I’m too advance that people don’t understand, instead, because of my lack of skills in vomiting out my thoughts.”
Here goes..
Tolerate or celebrate in this post refers to our treatment to people who have different point of view in life than us, that might be inspired by religion, culture, political interest, etc. The problem is how we deal with these people.
I love this one particular Christian based (as they claim) conspiracy forum. The thing that I want to emphasize is how they (well, some..) despise Islam. They work hard to find evidence in Youtube, any news articles, any events that can relate Islam to violence. The Westerners (again, some..) fear that Islam would conquer their nation. These people would cherry pick the verses in the Quran, Hadith, or statements by some unknown so-called Imam that support violent. They spread the fear that Shariah would crush their society. The saddest thing of all is the misinformation spreads and people have this bad image of Islam, and they stereotyped Muslims. Sounds like I’m a bit defensive?
Let’s talk about Malaysia. I’m going to talk about the Muslims society in Malaysia, as I’m raised within this community. The situation where Islam is the Agama Rasmi (okay, have no idea what to call this in English now :p). What have we been told since our childhood? For example, Christianity movements threat this country. They move from town to town, even to rural areas, where the MPs don’t even know exist (I’m a bit exaggerating here..). They help the people; build schools and hospitals so that they can convert the people they help. In Malaysia, we have to admit, that we’re so sensitive with this issue, especially the Muslims. We say a lot of bad stuff about other religions. We have this negative image embedded in our mind when we talk about other religions. But do we really understand them? Or do we just judge them based from what the people, our old men, talk about them? Or do we just judge them because we believe their religions hold no value because we believe ours is the truth? Just because we believe we are blessed with the truth, doesn’t mean we have the right to mislead people to hate others who have different opinion about life, do we? Okay, now, where am I going..?
The worst thing in Malaysia, to me, is we let our ignorance lead our life. I’m talking to the Muslim Malays especially (and to others as well..). We tend to generalize people based on their ethnicity. We sometimes don’t even know the difference between a race, a country and a faith. For example, how many of us haven’t heard the term ‘Cina’ coined to identify non-Muslims? One might argue that this is just a casual term that has nothing to do with generalizing them to be non-Muslims. Well sir, with that attitude I’m going to say that we lack the empathy, and being selfish that expect others to respect our feelings, but not willing to share that sentiment with others. (These two situations (i.e. ignorance in religions and ethnicities, esp. in Malaysia) are a big concern to me that they need a special post themselves, maybe later..)
Now, the question is why is this happening. For those who cannot see, or prefer to turn their one eye off, this is happening all around the globe. My personal view is this is the classic example where the majority abuses the minority. Simple as that. Where one’s might defined by their numbers, where the public (i.e. the majority) has certain views (usually negative) towards others who are a bit different. This is usually done by those who claim to be the rightful owner of a place, or a country, and hold the majority in their society. Like I said earlier, this is not exclusive to Malaysia. It’s happening all over the world. From the third world countries to the most powerful country on Earth right now. They call for the minorities to return to wherever they came from (sound familiar?); even when they were born and they pledge their allegiance to the country they currently reside. Isn’t this just stupid? To me, these people just demonstrate their very limited knowledge of history, or justify their ill-treatment to others based from their anecdotes, and turn a blind eye to see the bigger and complete picture of the world history. Have these people who feel they’re strong, they are the righteous lord of a country, that they’re free to say whatever they want, do whatever they please to these minorities been minorities themselves? Well, shame on them if they have, that they don’t take any lessons from that.
We Muslims will all boil up if there is news that Muslims were treated badly. Our brothers and sisters were killed in Palestine (some argue that Palestine doesn’t even exist, well, in that case you know the place I’m referring to). But what do we feel, for example to the current church bombing in Egypt, supposedly done by Muslims? Don’t we realize how angry the Christians are? They would just say that this is another proof of the ‘Religion of Peace’ in action. Are we going to just sit silently, and treat this as just another news on TV, as this has nothing to do with us? Nothing to do with us? Really? Don’t we want to at least know what really happened and study if it’s justified in Islam? My point is, we’re all human beings with feelings and emotions. As we can get angry if something bad happening to us, so do others. So treat others with respect. Just because we are the majority in an area, doesn’t mean we can silence the minority. Remember, if we want to play this majority-minority game, no one would win. It’s our nature to find the differences between us, as this classic joke points out:
I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off.
So I ran over and said, "Stop! Don't do it!" "Why shouldn't I?" he said.
I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!" He said, "Like what?"
I said, "Well, are you religious or atheist?" He said, "Religious."
I said, "Me too! Are your Christian or Buddhist?" He said, "Christian."
I said, "Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant?" He said, "Protestant."
I said, Me too! Are your Episcopalian or Baptist? He said, "Baptist!"
I said, "Wow! Me too! Are your Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord? He said, Baptist Church of God!"
I said, "Me too! Are your Original Baptist Church of God or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God!"
I said, "Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915!"
I said, "Die, heretic scum!" and pushed him off
Hence, lesson learnt? This stupidity must stop now!
Now, I don’t think this post will contribute positively towards the society. I’m not sure if people even understand what I was trying to say. One thing I’m sure of is; I think this is an important topic. There’re just times when I feel like sharing this concern with others, but I just don’t know how to convert these thoughts into words, and this post is a perfect example of that.
So, are we going to tolerate or celebrate our differences? The choice is ours.

IF.. :D :D~

Assalamualaikum :)

We often hear that if Islam is based solely on its so-called followers, people would run away and even hate Islam. Personally, If Islam is based on its follower, me myself have long left Islam. The thing that kept me from doing so is I believe Islam should be based on its teachings, not the actions of its followers. The bad apples who freely claim they represent Islam, defending the religion should stop doing so and keep on learning and please, keep your profiles low. Do not suggest to others who you not really are. Hypocrisy is not a good thing, at all.

How Ar? :D :D

Assalamualaikum :)

Okie, less than 24 hours after my previous post, come another. Then a few months of hiatus, hehe (I hope not :p)

I'm tired, and my brain begs me to stop and sleep, but the same brain suggests I should stay awake and finish up the report and prepare for the test. 2 tests, 3 assignments. The university sure know how to suck the most of your effort before they allow you to go for a short holiday (aka study break..)

Late at night, my brain wont function as it should in daytime. It's like there's a set of random topics flashing in front of me waiting for me to pick any one of 'em and dig further.

Tonight's topic of choice (drums rolling..):

How do we know we're right?

I can't find the right tone on how to start this topic..huhuhu..I'll try being as straight forward as I can. Yosh! Sototaarto!

How often do we hear people say how lucky we're born as a Muslim? Islam is the way of life, Islam will save you, all that stuff. How do we really know we're barking on the right tree? How can we really confirm that other people with different faith as ours weren't as 'lucky' as we're? Why do some people judge a person as if they can be really sure they're on the right path and the other person will be damned to hell (forever~), if that person never do any open-minded, honest research, and just depending on other peoples work?

Why do people easily judge a Muslim based on whether they're Sunni, or Shiite? Why do a Sunni sometimes easily mock the other person just because they pray differently. How do they know they're the one with the right 'method' of praying. What if they're wrong? Why should there be a different between a Sunni and a Shiite? Who coined that term in the first place? Are the Sunni really sure they're practising the original Islam that's brought forward by Prophet Muhammad SAW?

What if the people who mock the other person because they're from a different school of thoughts of Islam, been born in the opposite camp? Will they do their best to find the right path? Are we doing our best to check whether or not we're on the winning (in the herefter) side? Or do we just blindly believe we're the right ones because we're being told so?

What if we're born in a different environment, different faith. Will we do our best to do research whether we are following the truth? Or will we just strengthen our faith (whether or not it's the truth) and start preaching. What if we preached the wrong idea? Who are we to say those Christians missionaries are bringing false messages? Who are they to say Muslims are a bunch of uncivilized, blood-thirsty souls who need to be saved? Do people really care if they're on the right side? Or do we really care on defending our beliefs whether or not it's the truth, just by being confident that we're on the right side?

How many of us are willing to take an honest journey for the truth? We all know the fate for the unbelievers in the hereafter, no matter what religion you're in. Are we afraid to find out if the religion we're in right now are not the right one?As for me, sure I am.

May He showers His blessings and mercy upon us. Pray so we're enlightened and guided so we can see clearly and distinguish good from evil.

Cheers :D

**Tried almost everything (booting from Vista DVD, even XP cd, check disk using Ubuntu, editing BIOS settings, booting with just using 2 GB of RAM, disable network, disable this and that, re-enabling things, leaving the PC on overnight, even talking slowly to the PC, none works, thanks)

**repeating the procedures and other efforts to revive Vista with no vail (there goes my time when I should be studying for the exam..)

Sometimes Knowing When to Stop is an Advantage :D :D

Assalamualaikum :)..

Examination Month. Well, at least for beings like me (whose paper starts on the 1st day of exam and ends on the last, sentreng). So far 1 paper down (so long electronics, for now..huhu), and 3 more to go. Will have my taste of Geophysics this becoming Monday. Hoping everything to go well i'Allah, amiin.

Lots of stuff happened this semester. I appreciate everything I've learnt (thanks :D), both inside and outside the classroom (and labs..) realm. Not a good ending of the semester I might say (non-academic). 2 'blows' in one exam period isn't a nice thing to experience. Puzzling attitude and a shocking news, that really kept my mind full for a while. Still, I do think I can take more i'Allah (tho hoping not to have another 'blow' anytime soon..hehe).

When things seem too good to be true, chances are they really are”.

I know it sounds pathetic to cryptically blog bout your misery, thank you. I do realize I'm knocking the door of becoming a loser even harder. But heck, If there's anything I've learnt about letting go, keeping things to yourself is a big NO-NO.

Yosh, finally, all d best to all candidates. Be it students from AU, AUT and all around the world who share the same 'festive' period as ours. Well, another semester has gone, making it a semester less towards graduation (i'Allah), and towards leaving this place. I'm gonna miss this place much. The people that entered my life, and the experience I gained. I can't thank you guys enough, not to mention to thank Allah for giving such an opportunity to be here.

So long :D

Whys and Hows

warning: the post might contain profane language that reflects the author's disapproval of things, sorry in advance. I am not an anti-semites. My posts aren't about anti-semitism either. I strongly disregard racism. They're many more good Jews as there're no less of bad Muslims.

Assalamualaikum :)..

Why..
are we restrained from questioning the so-called holocaust of 6 mil of Jews by the Nazis in the WWII, when there're not few proofs the holocaust might be a giant hoax of the century.

Why..
are we restrained from taking actions towards our Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine and all around the world, while we watched with our own 2 friggin eyes how they're treated!!

How..
Darn stupid we're when we're to believe those blood-sucker bastards when they say they're acting appropiriately towards those friggin home-made missiles by Hamas??

How..
Darn stupid we're when we think Hamas are to be blamed solely for the ongoing conflict. How we stopped our brain from working when we forgot that they're also human beings, who wont retaliate when they're not provoked!(The Israelis are also the same, they wont respond if they're not attacked. Soo damn right!!)

How..
in this situation, we still don't realize that we are too dependent on others. "let the govt. decide", "let the Arab League make the decision", "let the UN work it out". We feel we're useless midgets who don't possess any power to help our oppressed brothers and sisters, that we need others to work for us.

How..
are we going to stand before Allah and answer Him. When our Muslim brothers and sisters blame us for their sufferings. They blame us for doing nothing. When they blame us with our silence towards their ill-treatment. When they blame us, for being bloody selfish!!

How..
despite all these mixed feelings, the anger, sadness, and guilt, I still feel I can do not much to reduce their burden :(
